I’m not sure what it is about IKEA, but it’s one of my favorite stores to visit. I was so excited when they opened a store just an hour from where we live. While we don’t go as often as I would like, we have visited the store quite often!
We ordered our RPod 192 in November, 2020 and picked it up in March, 2021. We found tons of organizational and functional items for our RV at the Memphis IKEA. Here are a bunch of my favorites!
We have used Skubb boxes for dresser drawer organization for quite awhile. It only made sense to use them in our RPod 192. The rectangle shapes fit great in the bedside table cabinets for personal items such as socks. We use the small square boxes to sit on top of our bedside tables for odds and ends. The larger square boxes fit in the cabinets above our dinette and keep items from shifting while we travel. It’s always nice to have Skubb boxes lying around.
We bought these for our RPod but haven’t used them much. They will probably make their way into our house when we have a house again. At the time of this writing we are still living in our RPod and dreaming of bigger RVs.
These are such an incredible deal! I prefer glass storage containers, but they are pretty heavy. These containers look small, but actually hold a lot of leftovers. Plus, you can’t beat the price! The fact that they are light weight make them perfect for a travel trailer.
I wasn’t too sure about buying these Variera storage boxes. However, another RV YouTuber recommended them, so we bought what you see pictured. I’m so glad we did! They work great in our refrigerator and keep items in place while we are driving. Plus you can organize your food items by category which makes me very happy!
We just purchased this knife bar but haven’t used it yet. While we are “moochdocking” at my parent’s house, most of our cooking is done inside their house. I’m ready to try this out!
I haven’t used our Blaska broom too much because we keep a larger broom in our pass through storage, and I don’t have to bend over to use a regular broom! But it’s handy to have around, and the price is right!
When I was looking for dining stuff for our RPod I got some plastic plates, bowls, and cups from Target. They were pretty high quality (for plastic) and only cost $.50 per piece. I wish I had waited to buy this dinnerware from IKEA. The plates are just a little bit more in price and are very light weight.
I had my doubts about these knives. Really. I was pleasantly surprised at how sharp they were (and still are). They are so sharp that I have cut my fingers on them several times. That’s a good test of knife sharpness, right?
We somehow missed the flatware section during our first outfitting trip to IKEA and have been using plastic knives and forks. We purchased this 16 piece set during our most recent trip, but haven’t used them yet. I think today is a good day to try them out!!
At our old house we had one of these toilet bowl cleaners in every bathroom. We have one in our RPod, too! They work great and don’t break your budget. That’s a win-win for me.
We first saw these towels on another YouTube IKEA video. One of my favorite things about them: they have a loop for hanging! Another favorite thing: they are both absorbent and lightweight. All of those things are important when you are in an RV. If you know, you know, right?
I discovered IKEA’s pillow inserts and covers when we bought a new couch several years ago. We got the 20 x 20 down pillow inserts for just $6 apiece!! Non down inserts are $3 apiece. The covers vary in price, but they are a huge value. If you want or need decorative pillows, I highly recommend IKEA products.
The price of this product blew me away. We decided to get these pocket organizers for the wardrobe cabinets in our RPod. I had already priced them at Target ($10) and Walmart ($14.99). Getting them at IKEA for $4.99 each was a no-brainer. Each pocket holds about 3-4 t-shirts or pairs of shorts.
These bags also pack a lot of storage (literally!) at a small price! We originally got them to use for storage under the murphy bed in our RPod. Now they are packed with stuff from our move that we don’t really need right now.
I guess I have been a collector of clear plastic storage boxes for a long time. I really wanted to buy a bunch of these from IKEA. They aren’t quite shoebox size, but they are made from heavy duty plastic and the lids fit snugly. Maybe we should get a bigger RV so I can get more boxes!
We have also bought furniture from IKEA and are impressed with its durability, functionality, and price. Plus, we have successfully put complicated pieces together without getting into a major argument! I guess the store appeals to me because organization (I’m not organized, but I keep trying!) and financial bargains make me happy.
