November 23, 2021 update: just found this unpublished blog. My Thanksgiving resolution is to do a better job of getting these things out!!!
As of today, we have slept 28 nights in our new RPod! We have driven over 3800 miles and have been in nine (let’s count ‘em) states! Currently we are trying to outrun Hurricane Elsa on our way home.
Now that we have been on an extended trip, there are so many more things that we love about our travel trailer! Yes, there are things we don’t love, but that’s another blog post. Today’s post will include 5 things (maybe 5.5) we love about our new RPod-192.
Number 1 – Storage
Our travel trailer has so much storage! We looked at other small couple’s trailers and really couldn’t find one that has the amount of storage that our Rpod does. This helps us keep things clean and organized, even when we are traveling for longer periods of time. Here are just a few pictures that show how much storage we have.
Number 2 – Space
There are couple’s trailers out there that have more room than we do. They might have a slide or be slightly wider or longer than our Rpod. However, for around 150 square feet, our trailer is surprisingly roomy! The main reason for this is the Murphy bed. When the bed is up, not only do we have more seating, it also has a more spacious feel.
Number 3 – Central Vacuum System
It’s been awhile, but I don’t remember seeing any other small trailer with a central vacuum. It’s a small luxury and sure has come in handy! Before we started traveling, I assumed we would be “glamping” and wouldn’t see much dirt. I was wrong. Dirt gets tracked in to every type of house. The central vacuum makes sweeping up quick and easy.
Number 4 – Microwave/Convection Oven Combination
One tip we got from watching endless YouTube videos was to look for a rig with a microwave/convection oven. This seemed like a good tip to me because it’s a huge space saver. Why take up valuable space when it’s not necessary? I’ve only used the convection oven a couple of times but it’s worked great!
Number 5 – Power Jack and Power Awning
Again, most of the small travel trailers we looked at didn’t have a power jack. It is easy to add one to an existing trailer, but we wanted to buy a trailer that already had one. We aren’t getting any younger! Having the power jack has helped us save time and energy.
I love sitting under our awning in the evening. It is both peaceful and relaxing. I look forward to this every night and am sad when we are out too late. Having a power awning makes getting there a piece of cake!
